A dependable contractor.
A better-looking site.

SGS delivers planned maintenance around the needs of each property, its users and its management team. Our focus is consistent presentation, safe access, responsive communication and work completed properly on every visit.

A real multi-phase programme

Large-site capacity with direct regional accountability.

For a substantial six-phase residential development in Hampshire, SGS coordinates a planned year-round programme across entrances, communal landscapes and shared open space. The client and development remain unnamed to respect commercial confidentiality.

A structured programme across the whole development.

  • Phase-based mowing and lawn presentation
  • Hedges, shrubs and communal borders
  • Leaf, litter and seasonal clearance
  • Weed and vegetation management
  • Entrances, shared routes and focal areas
  • Issue reporting and additional works planning

The SGS difference

The contract stays visible to the people responsible for it.

Routes, team resources and seasonal priorities are coordinated around the site. Management oversight, direct communication and a local operational base keep responsibility clear throughout the contract.

More than turning up and cutting grass

A visible service, with clear ownership behind it.

Good grounds maintenance depends on planning, supervision and communication as much as the work on site. We build those responsibilities into the contract from the beginning.

01

Clear schedule & specification

A site-specific programme sets out visit frequency, seasonal tasks, presentation standards and areas of responsibility, giving everyone a clear point of reference.

02

Briefed, consistent teams

Operatives understand the site, access arrangements, sensitive areas and priorities. Continuity builds knowledge and reduces the need for repeated instruction.

03

Supervision & quality checks

Team leaders and management monitor delivery, correct issues early and make sure the finish remains consistent—not only when a contract begins.

04

Photographic reporting

Clients can receive useful site records showing completed work, emerging concerns and items that may require approval or additional action.

05

Proactive recommendations

We flag failing plants, trip hazards, drainage concerns, worn lawns, boundary issues and improvement opportunities rather than walking past them.

06

Responsive additional works

Seasonal projects, storm response, renovation, planting and urgent presentation work can be organised through the same trusted relationship.

A better kind of grounds contractor

A team that treats your site like a long-term responsibility.

Founded by Dan Martin in Sandhurst in 2011, SGS has developed from a local garden business into a multi-team grounds and estate management company led by Dan and Co-Director Lisa Martin.

That growth has been deliberate. We have invested in people, vehicles, professional equipment, management and working systems so we can look after larger and more demanding sites without losing the personal service on which the business was built.

We make the scope, visit frequency and responsibilities clear from the start. Clients can discuss concerns with the people overseeing delivery and plan improvements through the same relationship.

A clear mobilisation process

We build the programme around the site.

  1. 01

    Site review

We assess the grounds, access, presentation, risks and current maintenance standard.

  2. 02

    Tailored specification

We agree the scope, visit frequency, seasonal priorities and reporting needs.

  3. 03

    Managed mobilisation

Your team is briefed, schedules are set and any initial improvement work is planned.

  4. 04

    Consistent delivery

Work is supervised, recorded and reviewed to keep the contract performing.

Planning your next contract

A straightforward start.

Can you review a site with an existing contractor?

Yes. We can discuss your specification, current concerns and renewal timing. Any changeover would be planned around your contractual commitments and an agreed start date.

Can you coordinate several sites or development phases?

We assess the locations, workload and visit frequencies together, then propose a programme with suitable resources and a clear management contact. Capacity and mobilisation are agreed before a contract starts.

How are inspections and reporting agreed?

The contract sets out the reporting frequency, records required, quality reviews and escalation contact. Any photographic reporting should focus on the grounds and avoid identifying residents, pupils or guests.

What do you need for schools, hotels or tenders?

Share the site location, scope, timing and any access or procurement requirements. We agree insurance evidence, relevant qualifications, RAMS, safeguarding and DBS requirements for the work before mobilisation. You can attach a specification to your enquiry email.
